How to make an Appointment

The Practice is committed to making it easier for patients to book an appointment to see a Doctor or Nurse.

Please call our main switchboard number 01902 405200 to book an appointment . If you have access to the internet you can book appointments with either a doctor or nurse online using the PATIENT ACCESS system at However, you will need to register for this service before you can use this service. If you are interested please speak to a member of our reception staff.


We are very much still open and here for you. We are continuing to provide services as we have been doing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We are prioritising delivering of care and services based on clinical needs. You can still book routine telephone calls online or via the phone.

If you need medical advice or treatment, please ring us on 01902 405200.  When you phone, you will be asked to provide some information about your healthcare need. This will help the practice healthcare team assess the most appropriate way to provide your care, which MAY include a face-to-face consultation and ensure it is provided by the most appropriate person. Face-to-face appointments ARE available to all patients where there is a clinical need but these are still being limited to prevent the spread of COVID 19.  There are alternative appointment methods which may be more suitable.

Alternatively, visit the local pharmacy for clinical advice on minor health concerns. For urgent issues or out of hours, you can also call the NHS on 111 or go online to seek NHS advice

Appointments are being delivered face-to-face, by telephone, or using video calls and messaging to your mobile or computer – the practice team will assess what is most appropriate for you and if you have a preference you can discuss this with them.

Appointment Reminders

The Practice now has the capability to send text messages direct to your mobile telephone. This service covers:

  • Appointment reminders
  • Campaign messages, e.g. flu vaccination reminder

Urgent Appointments

Urgent appointments can be booked on the day. If your condition is non-urgent, you can expect to see a GP usually within 2-3 weeks, though you may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP.

Same Day Appointments

We are a busy practice, and providing some same day appointments makes it easier for you to see a doctor quickly. 55% of our GP appointments are same day appointments.

Routine Appointments

As part of our on-going plan of improvements you can now generally book appointments up to 6 weeks in advance. If you know that you need a non-urgent or review appointment we encourage you to book it well in advance to ensure you can see the Doctor or Nurse at a date and time that is convenient to you. Please don’t wait until the last moment to book an appointment. Please phone after 10.30am to avoid busy times.

Practice Nurse Appointments

Our Practice Nurse treats patients for a wide range of common conditions. You can expect to see a nurse within one working day. You can book up to a month ahead for clinics – please see the ‘our services’ section.

Unable to Attend an Appointment

If you are unable to attend for a booked appointment please contact the reception. This will allow us to re-arrange your appointment for an appropriate time and enable us to offer your cancelled appointment to another patient.

Role of Reception

Our receptionists are the first point of contact and are here to help you. They have a lot of information to hand and in most cases will be able to help with your enquiry, ensuring you see the most appropriate clinician. Nonetheless, it is your right to request to talk only to the doctor. Anything that is discussed with the receptionists or any other member of the team is treated in strict confidence. You have a right to be treated courteously, and our receptionists also have a right to be treated courteously by you. Should you wish to speak to any member of staff in private we will meet your request. Please respect the privacy of other patients by standing well back from the reception desk until your turn.
